| We have a lot of experience dealing with Fuzzi Bunz and with customer questions about Fuzzi Bunz. We know that washing makes a difference in keeping your diapers looking like new.
The is not much to cleaning Fuzzi Bunz. The diapers were made to avoid swirling, dunking, spraying or soaking diapers. Fuzzi Bunz were invented by a woman who HATED laundry (and still does), so these diapers are easy use and easy care!
Quick Dos & Don'ts
- Do wash your Fuzzi Bunz after each use.
- Do make sure that there is a snug fit.
- Do make sure that you have the correct size for your baby.
- Do contact the manufacturer if you have any problems.
- Do not use fabric softener or pure soap products on your Fuzzi Bunz.
- Do not bleach or expose to high heat for prolonged periods of time.
- Do not use diaper cream while using Fuzzi Bunz.
Washing
Use it, then wash it. Fuzzi Bunz are a single-use diaper, meaning you use it once and then wash it. You can not take the insert out and put another one in and keep using the Fuzzi Bunz. This was what was described in the book Diaper Changes and it is horribly incorrect. Use a Fuzzi Bunz diaper then wash it.
Separate. When just wet, simply separate the two pieces or shake the insert out into a basket, diaper pail or hanging diaper bag for easy washing.
Shake it off. If soiled, solid poop will fall right off of the diaper into the toilet. No rinsing or swirling. Anything that sticks to the fleece will dissolve in the wash. If you just can't put it in the washer that way, get a diaper sprayer and spray the poop off of the diaper before putting it in your washer.
Soak. Run a rinse or soak cycle first with no detergent just to dissolve any solids left on the diapers and get much of the urine and mess out into the sewer where it belongs.
Hot wash. After the soak cycle run a HOT wash with the detergent. Be sure to use laundry detergents recommended for Fuzzi Bunz. No bleach, no fabric softener, and avoid natural detergents except those recommended.
Cold rinse. If your hot wash is not automatically followed by a cold rinse, run a cold rinse cycle. This step is only necessary with a particularly dirty load.
Dry. Tumble dry on low heat or hang to dry. Either way your diapers will dry quickly and be ready to put back on your baby soon.
